Leave a Comment All I have to say right now is FUCK!!! I have an 18 month old. I always wanted to have kids once I found the right girl and I love my son. He’s only 18 months old right now, and yes I know every parent thinks they’re kid is brilliant, but he is seriously smart as fuck. He figures out toys way over his head. He’s not super verbal yet but he’s a MASTER of manipulation. And I don’t mean the typical baby stuff like fits and whatnot (which he of course does as well, but he’s learning quickly that not even that works well and when/where it does work). I’m talking serious study of our actions facial expressions, and learning to exploit any weekness he sees. Maybe I am off here and all kids his age do this but I really don’t think so.
I’ll post more examples but he’s been really pissing me off because I am not always sure when he’s playing me and when he’s sincere. I hope I’m not the father of a sociopath or psychopath but DAMN.
I know this is a vague post but the exact example I wanted to use has slipped my mind as I started it a few days ago. So more to come.

Leave a Comment First off I am a huge fan of Opie and Anthony, who you can catch on Sirius XM. I’ll take a second to say they’re the best cringe or “shock” jocks on radio today (and don’t get me started on Howard Stern, he may have paved the way but he’s way past his prime and honestly talks about OandA so much I think he’s intimidated). Anyway, the shows great as all three hosts (Opie Hughes, Anthony Cumia, and Jim Norton) have razor sharp wit’s, Jim’s the funniest (and should be as he’s a stand up comedian) with Anthony coming in at a close second, Opie’s great at playing the asshole, or maybe he’s not playing, regardless he perfectly rounds out the trio.
I’ve been listening to them for a few years now and they’ve given me lots of laughs, but one of the things that I really like about OandA (especially when compared to Stern) is the amount of political commentary as well as world and national news and pop culture they discuss. Yes a lot of their humor is base, but they are three smart guys. I really like the dynamic of Anthony the ultra conservative vs. Jim and Opie who tend to be more left of Anthony. Back in the blogosphere.
Well I’m back in a new location. I’ll post the address to my buddies and fam when I get some interesting content up.
I really got sick of maintaining my own server then my own host. It was always more work to keep the server or site itself up and running and the content became secondary to the work I was doing. Anyway, this time I will concentrate mostly on the content. Making a site that has some meaning and a voice is most important now because I feel like I have things to say.
I may change the theme or add my own domain later but for now just posting is the focus. Once I have that base we’ll move on.
EDIT: I found a way to pull some of the posts (and I deleted a few that had no relevance) from my old Blog, so now I have a few of those posts, there’s a huge GAP though, where I didn’t really post anything, that you may notice if the dates came over properly. Anyway, read back, and we’ll see if there’s anything worth reading. I did read a few and my posts on the birth of my son were interesting to read again, it’s amazing how something so hard at the time is not as bad after a few months or a year.

New Site
Well I finally did it, and I said to heck with trying to convert. I will be posting old stories and trying to move as much content as I can from the old site to the new one.
For the geeks out there I was running Drupal 6 and have been plagued by lack of time to do necessary upgrades to the site, like keeping security patches up and all the modules (plug-ins for you WordPress people) so I decided I needed a new platform. I had used WordPress long ago, and it was previously a mainly HTML based blogging system, but it’s grown into a full content management system that is geared for ease of use.
I am not going to get in a war of Drupal vs. WordPress, they both have their advantages, but WordPress is going to be a better fit for me currently. I will am not going to post my entire iPhoto library, which Gallery 2 was good for, but I want to post some pictures, so the Gallery plugin that I have selected for WordPress fits the bill. I also want some pictures posted on the front page for news for everyone to see, as well as a blog area that I can do more specific posts that may not necessarily need to be on the front page.
Looks like WordPress is going to fit the bill for me. Look for a few new posts in the next few days and then more as I get the hang of it.
